Leeds Castle offers families and couples the chance to escape to the countryside for a camping holiday with a difference. Eight splendid striped pavilions based on a Medieval design form a 'village' on the former one-acre castle vineyard.
Enjoy the luxury of a four poster bed, warming wood burning stove, crisp cotton bedding and snug furry throws. But the real luxury is not having to bring any special camping kit with you.
For those wishing to eat as Medieval knights would have done, use of the cast iron griddle over an open fire pit is included in your stay. A short stroll from the campsite and up the garden path is Knight's Cottage, where guests have full use of new shower and washing facilities.
Outside of camping season, Leeds Castle also has six historic luxury self-catering holiday cottages within the estate. The cottages are ideal for a longer break in the beautiful Kent countryside and are a great based for exploring Canterbury, Sissinghurst Castle, historic Rochester and Chatham, or for simply walking in the Kent downs, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
All guests of Leeds Castle have full access to the castle and grounds for their entire stay, and use the leisure facilities at the neighbouring Mercure Maidstone Hotel.
