Bredgar And Wormshill Light Railway Timetable 2022

At Bredgar and Wormshill Light Railway they have restored many long since abandoned industrial vehicles and machines to their former glory, some are better than original and now benefit from a new lease of life. As the railway developed, complementary attractions have been added: traction engines, a steam roller, vintage cars, miniature locos and a model railway. All have historical significance and a unique appeal.

Narrow gauge (2 foot) railway set in parkland with plenty of room to picnic and relax outdoors.  Trains run frequently throughout our open days and once you have entered the BWLR world all rides and activities are free.  A museum allows you to get up close to locomotives, tractors, cars and other exhibits.  A model railway usually runs in the museum which is a great attraction to children of all ages. There is also a tearoom providing a range of refreshment to enjoy and a treat or two.

Every Wednesday! Great value diesel train rides in the gorgeous Kent countryside*

Our much loved Diesel Wednesdays are returning from Wednesday 9th February 2022.
A chance to ride in a traditional passenger carriage pulled along by a smart diesel engine, through the parkland and woodland to the end station and back.
The ride takes approximately 15 minutes, ideal for little ones in particular to enjoy the experience with plenty to look at.
The Station tea room is open 9am - 3pm serving quality hot drinks, lunches and cake with indoor and outdoor seating.
Why not explore the woods or bring a ball to make the most of the beautiful setting and fresh air, away from the hubbub of life.
Trains run frequently from 11am - 2pm. No need to book! Just arrive and purchase your ticket at the shop.
*Please note this is not an 'Event Day' and as such the museum and other attractions are not on display.
Ticket prices per ride:
Adult: £3 (16yrs +)
Child: £1 (4-15yrs)
Infant: FREE (0-3 yrs)

How to spend the 2022 Bank Holidays in Kent

2022 is going to be a good year for bank holidays as we’ve been given an extra one to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee, by getting a bonus holiday day on 3rd June. With all those long weekends that we’ve got to use, Kent is coming out swinging for those who want entertainment, secluded escapes, to a taste of Kent right on their doorstep.
