The Aylesford Pottery

Arts, Culture and Entertainment

The Aylesford Pottery in Kent is one of the few surviving commercial potteries in the South East of England making a range of handmade thrown and hand-built ceramics, plus architectural commissions in stoneware and porcelain.

Visitors can see pottery being made and take part on special days in introductory courses. There is a gallery of the work of the potters for sale, including domestic and garden ware.

The pottery also runs a school of ceramics for over 100 students, which is run by the master potters, Alan Parris and Billy Byles.

Two master potters Alan Parris and Billy Byles run the pottery today. Set in the grounds of the Aylesford Priory, just outside Maidstone it is open seven days a week.
