This summer, Medway will mark the 350th anniversary of the Battle of Medway, a largley unknown battle that played a huge role in British and Dutch naval history.
In June, come and join in with the events, exhibitions and cultural activities taking place between Thursday 8th June and Saturday 17th June, including a new permanent exhibition at Upnor Castle and a spectacular festival finale with a pageant on the River Medway that is likely to attract thousands of people.
The programme is a fitting commemoration of a huge naval event that shaped British and world history. Upnor Castle is opening a new permanent exhibition illustrating the Battle of Medway which took place in and around the castle itself. The exhibition officially opens on 1st April 2017 as part of the Battle of Medway 350th anniversary events.
