Based in Faversham, Belmont House offers a wild classroom cooking class experience for the whole family, using sustainably grown produce from the kitchen garden. After picking your produce, the whole family will get to prepare, cook and eat their food in the outdoor cooking class.
Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham are one of the most sustainable brewers in the UK. They recycle 97% of grains and hops for animal feed on local farms and were the first UK brewery to be awarded a Feed Materials Assurance Scheme certificate. Visitors can also explore the brewery itself by booking a guided tour and can sample and taste Kent's finest brew.
Chatham's Historic Dockyard Heritage Building was rated as the top sustainable structure in 2021 by The Royal Institute of British Architect's. Families can enjoy a series of tours and workshops which the Dockyard often have on, make sure to check their website as they always have events on. The Dockyard open all year round and is great for a family day out.
The Copper Rivet Distillery is the only grain to glass spirit makers in Kent. Based in Chatham, they use Kentish grain grown, sourced and produced within 20 miles of the distillery, significantly reducing their carbon footprint and ensuring there's a taste of Kent in every glass. Visitors can also book a tour of the distillery to see all the hard work that goes in to it.
Jeskyns is a 360 acre sustainable, newly planted woodland. Jeskyns is great for families as there are many things to do, from five different walking trails to choose from and play areas for children, to fairy and elf villages. Plus the chance to say hello to the cows, take the dog for a walk and much more.
